The club is composed of men and women of all ages and various backgrounds who are involved in woodcarving as a creative art form.  We also have a few junior carvers, our members range in age from 9 to 90+.  Beginners are especially welcome to join us and learn from our special teaching seminars and more advanced carvers.

Batavia Wood Carvers is a casual carving society which meets Mondays from 7-9 p.m. in the McWayne Annex of the Bethany Lutheran Church located at Wilson and Lincoln Streets in Batavia, Illinois.  All new and experienced carvers are welcome.  Teaching is available.  For more information contact   Bob Mau    or Dick MacFeely at 630-319-5905.  Come join us to keep this 25 year carving tradition alive.

 We meet the second Tuesday of every month at the art building on the University of Wisconsin, Platteville campus.

 The purpose of the Harry Nohr Woodturners club, is to bring together people from all backgrounds to enjoy and learn the art/craft of wood turning. Whether the individual is a hobbyist, part-timer or professional turner, all are welcomed. The Harry Nohr Woodturners goal is to meet once a month to share ideas and techniques on woodturning and tools, trade wood and conduct demonstrations on wood turning techniques. Meetings will be held primarily at facilities located on the University of Wisconsin Platteville Campus as the club is affiliated with UWP and membership is comprised of woodturners and students from the University Community and the surrounding area.

 


 Fox Valley Wood Carvers

The Fox Valley Woodcarvers meet at the Fox Valley Older Adults, 1406 Suydam Rd., Sandwich Illinois, every Tuesday morning and 6:30 PM the first Tuesday of every month. Our club is informal with a goal of teaching and promoting the art of woodcarving to men and women of all ages. Beginners are especially welcome. The primary goal of AWC Limited is to raise the art of woodcarving to the level of a fine art in the eyes of the general public and the art world.  This is being done through the sponsorship of the International Woodcarvers Congress.  It is the most prestigious, longest running, competitively judged, woodcarving art show in the world.  There is no show that is as national and international in scope, than the International Woodcarvers Congress.  It is held every year during the 2nd full week in June in Maquoketa, Iowa.  Information on AWC and the Congress can be found on the website:  www.awcltd.org or by contacting the Show Co-Chairpersons, Carol and Larry Yudis at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Valley Carvers club of Ottawa, IL. meet the first tuesday of the month at the Andrew Fox high rise at 906 canal street in Ottawa at 6:30. We are looking for carvers or people who would like to learn to carve to come and join us. If interested contact Bob Wills at 815-634-3086.

 We also are hosting our 23rd wood carving expo on September 25, 2011 at the Starved Rock State Park in Utica, IL.
